To fight tooth decay

Tooth decay is a common problem which is mostly seen among children and also adults. It leads to erosion of teeth, a problem which is caused by excessive consumption of acidic foodstuffs like carbonated drinks and some fruit juices. The best way to prevent tooth decay from fruit juices and soft drinks is to drink them by using a straw. Fried foods are bad for health but they do have some benefits too. Try to end your meals with fibrous foods and salads. Never end your meals with sweets and desserts. Limit your intake of refined carbohydrates. As it is sticky, it will stick to teeth for longer periods causing bacteria in mouth. These bacteria are the main causes for tooth decay.

Look out for sugar content in foods. One of the natural food that contains high sugar is honey which could be avoided for betterment of teeth. Try to include adequate amount of calcium, phosphorus, fluoride and vitamins like A, C and D in your diet. All these subsistent will be there in a normal balanced diet. Regular visit to dentist will also help to assist in early detection of severe dental problems.
